The new building of the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center of Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology is being built actively. It was told the journalists on January 30 by Alieg Rumo, the director of the Center, a professor, the Doctor of Medical Science, the correspondent of the "Minsk-News" agency reports.
“The construction of a new building of surgery and transplantology is in full swing,” noted A. Rumo. “In 2019, 30 million rubles were allocated for these purposes. 15 million of those are from the funds of the republican investment program and the same amount is from the funds of the local budget (of the city of Minsk).”
According to A. Rumo, the utilization of the aforementioned funds will make it possible to substantially approach the solution of the tasks set to the transplant service of our country by the President of the Republic of Belarus Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
“One of these tasks concerns the construction of a new building in the territory of the center, with opening of which we will be able to increase the number of organ transplantation operations,” said A. Rumo. “This refers to transplantation of the liver, kidneys, and lungs.”
Completion of the construction of the building is scheduled for the end of 2021.
We recall that the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center of Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology was established on the basis of the 9th Minsk Clinical Hospital.
