“Three new offices “For Life”, where women will be discouraged from abortions, will be opened in Minsk polyclinics in November 2018,” Svetlana Manysheva, head of the medical care for mothers and children department of the Minsk City Executive Committee, informed the correspondent of the “Minsk-News” agency.
“These cabinets will appear in the 25th central district clinic (Maskoŭski district), in the 27th city clinic (Pieršamajski district) and in the 17th city clinic (Zavodski district),” noted S. Manysheva.
Now pre-abortion counseling cabinets work in three polyclinics in the Zavodski, Lieninski and Frunzienski districts. There doctors help women with unwanted pregnancy to decide on carrying a child. In addition, in the offices "For Life" they provide assistance to women who cannot cope with a crisis situation on their own (after premature birth or sexual violence – author's note).
Meanwhile, pre-abortion counseling offices have interdistrict status: patients are sent there not from one but from several districts of the capital. Thus, women who are in medical care in polyclinics №№ 10, 12, 20 and 40 are served in the “For life” office of the 10th city polyclinic. Analogically, women from Polyclinics №№ 11, 22, 29, 35 and 37 are directed to the 37th City Polyclinic. Patients attached to polyclinics №№ 6, 7, 18, 21 and 23 go to the office “For Life” of the 23rd city polyclinic.
