The results of the week-long marathon of benevolence "Maternity, friendly to a family!", which was first held in Minsk from 23 to 27 July, are summed up. They were announced at a press conference in Minsk on August 2, the correspondent of the "Minsk-news" agency communicates.
The campaign was attended by about 840 pregnant women, excluding spouses and children.
The main task of it initiators saw in improving understanding between future parents and the medical staff, which helps babies to be born, in giving more knowledge about behavior during pregnancy and during childbirth, about care for newborns, in giving an opportunity to consult psychologists, lawyers, experts of "Dad-school" for free.
- We are very pleased with the results of the campaign, - the Head of the Department of Medical Care for Mothers and Children of Health Committee of Minsk City Executive Committee Sviatlana Manyshava noticed. - It was useful for the population and for physicians. As a result of the direct contact with the target audience, we heard about the problems which care it. Of course, we will try to correct them. We are very pleased with many positive reviews about the work of the staff of maternity hospitals, words of gratitude to the doctors. I think our initiative will sure have a fine continuation.
The Chair of the Health Committee of Minsk City Executive Committee Siarhei Malyshka thanked all the participants of the campaign for the manifested interest and activity. He also presented certificates of honour to the most experienced midwives of the capital - Aliaxandra Marozava from the 3d MCH and Maryia Pastushenka from the 1st MCH.
- I took my first childbirth on September 2, 1966. And in total during 50 years of work I helped about 10 thousand kids to be born. I think I lived life for a reason, - Aliaxandra Marozava confessed excitedly.
As a result of an online vote for the most "Family-friendly maternity hospital of Minsk" (1137 people participated in it) the maternity ward of MCH № 6, for which 403 votes were given, became the winner. It was awarded a certificate signed by the Chair of Minsk City Executive Committee and a memorable gift. All five maternity hospitals of the capital was awarded "Trees of benevolence."
